Natasha & Andrew’s Beautiful Day at Elixir, on the Stunning Island of Ibiza, Planned by Eat Ibiza ♥♥♥

It’s time for a little sun in our lives I think and you don’t get much sunnier than Andrew & Natasha’s beautiful day in Ibiza :)  How I would love a bit of this warmth right now!  The whole day was planned beautifully by the lovely Vickki from Eat Ibiza, who runs the stunning venue Elixir overlooking Cala Codolar.  The perfect location for sunsets and sun and just the most divine food.  Natasha & Andrew got married in the beautiful little church in San Augustin and it was a dream to shoot there.  The whole day was just gorgeous and I was in heaven with the gorgeous light, a beautiful couple and lots of happy, smiley faces.  A truly dreamy day in the ibizan sun xxx

2013 You’ve Been A Corker!

2013 has been an absolute blast, super hectic at times but all totally worth it!  I started the year in Chamonix for Helen & Nobby’s stunning wedding and ended it at the same venue for Maddie & Justin’s gorgeous day just the other week!  I also shot 2 weddings in Ibiza, one in Alderney, 2 in Yorkshire, 1 in Bath, 1 in Bristol, 3 in London, 1 in the Cotswolds, 1 in Kent, 1 in Cambridge, 4 in Surrey and the rest were local to me around Chichester.  All in all I’ve seen some beautiful things, met some wonderful suppliers (Kate Avery Flowers, Mari Hudson Catering, Clare Williams Cakes, Lucy from ID Salon, Vikki from Eat Ibiza to name a few), shot at some stunning venues (Sudely Castle, Elizir (Ibiza), Le Cabane (Chamonix), Claridge’s Hotel, Bath Assemby Rooms, Rivervale Barn, Southend Barns) plus some insane private houses and marquees with amazing backdrops as well as meeting a whole bunch of wonderful brides and grooms.  I shot a total of 35 weddings, which, going forward, I believe to be too many.  I want to give 100% to every wedding I shoot and not let myself get burnt out so one of my big decisions for 2014 is to only take on an absolute max of 25 weddings.  This means I need to stay true to my pricing in order for my business to survive but I honestly think all my clients will appreciate having a photographer who’s 100% inspired, full of energy and with plenty of time for Skype conversations and advice.

I’m thrilled to say I’ve been featured on Style Me Pretty, Rock My Wedding, B.Loved, Boho Weddings, French Wedding Style and in You & Your Wedding and Your Wedding magazine – yay!  I love seeing my work featured and feel extremely grateful to all these fantastic blog and magazines who do such an incredible job supporting and promoting suppliers.

2013 also saw the very exciting launch of Millie & Belle with the fantastic Camilla Arnhold.  Camilla and I absolutely love working together and are really excited about what the future holds for our new venture… Watch this space!

I also bought myself a Contax 645 medium format camera which has totally re-inspired me.  I love film and want to shoot more and more with it.  2014 may even see the addition of a Film & Digital Package for HCP so please get in contact if this might interest you.  I’m also hoping to continue to learn and develop my photography skills through lots of personal projects on film, whether it be a styled shoot, family shoot or engagement shoot, I’m just excited by the new medium and the added inspiration it gives me.  Myself and the awesome hubby are also planning on starting a new business together to compliment two things we both love…  Without giving it away we’re both really excited and look forward to trying to work together doing something we’re passionate about.  We’ll let you know as soon as we can…

On a personal note myself and the hubby have bought a house, sweated over renovations, holidayed in Tignes, Meribel, Chamonix and Ibiza, spent 7 weeks in Mallorca for Dom’s work and generally enjoyed our 2nd year of married life!

Wishing everyone a successful, happy and fun 2014!  Big love xxx

A Homemade Beauty of a Wedding on Alderney, Channel Islands : Derek & Holly are MARRIED!

What do you get when the French Alps meet Scotland on the gorgeous island of Alderney??  THIS!!  A real stunner of a wedding, pretty much 90% homemade by Holly, Derek and their amazing team made up of friends and colleagues from The Georgian House Hotel on Alderney and their time in Meribel, France.  Derek and Holly met in Meribel, where they now spend each winter.  Holly runs Fish & Pips, a chalet holiday company, and Derek runs his own ski school, Marmalade.

Highlights of the wedding included:

  • a morning swim for Derek and all guests lead by Duncan Goodhew!
  • Holly & Derek’s own signature cocktails (Del’s Marmalade Daquiri and Holly’s Elderflower Sangaree) for each guest to mix themselves at the table using jam jars!
  • Skis as the seating plan and to serve canapés!!
  • Table names of all the runs in Meribel
  • The most amazing setting overlooking one of Alderney’s incredible beaches and the best locations for couple shots – happy Helen!
  • Stunning bridesmaids dresses
  • Invites made to look like lift passes and piste maps
  • A Golf buggy all done out in tartan to transport the happy couple around
  • Bagpipe player and celidh
  • The “off piste” bar serving every drink and shot you could possibly imagine and even Meribel’s renowned beer “Mutzig” – super strong!  There would have been lots of sore heads in the morning, especially as the party went on to 4am!
  • All staff were friends/employees of Derek and Holly and the main chef won best chalet chef (as voted for by the Times) for Holly’s company Fish & Pips
  • All staff wore T-shirts showing a picture of Derek and Holly

All in all, totally amazing and I wish I’d had a 2nd shooter as there was so much going on!  xxx

Natasha & Andrew’s Gorgeous E-Shoot in Ibiza xxx

As temperatures drop and we all just want to snuggle up on the sofa with a hot cocoa and a duvet I thought I should share this gorgeous shoot with you all!  Natasha & Andrew got married in Ibiza last month and the evening before we hooked up to get some beautiful shots in the amazing Ibizan light.  I was in serious heaven with the light, the warmth, the views and the love between these two; a love to warm even the chilliest of cockles! xxx

Helen & Nobby : A Fairytale Snowy Wedding in Chamonix ♥

If I had to mark this wedding out of ten it would get an 11!!  Helen & Nobby both ski for the Navy Ski Team and chose Chamonix to celebrate their love of snow and each other with all their friends and family.  The whole day was planned to perfection by the amazing Jody of Mont Blanc Weddings – I honestly couldn’t recommend her highly enough for taking the stress out of a destination wedding and making each wedding magical and unique.  A beautiful ceremony in the cute Les Praz chapel was followed by a gorgeous reception at La Cabane des Praz where fancy dress and snow gin kept the party swinging until the early hours.  Helen & Nobby chose a cute little mazot in Les Tines for their couple shots where Nobby proved to me why he was chosen to model for the Navy (and toothpaste as a boy apparently) with his blue steel and long loving gazes towards his stunning new wife.  I just adore these two and it was the perfect wedding to kick off the 2013 season for Helen Cawte Photography!  Camilla and I were also able to have a brilliant few days in a beautiful setting and I can’t thank her enough for travelling to Chamonix to shoot this with me.  TIme for the photos and a whole lot of gorgeousness…

Snow Gin for the guests, LOVE this ♥

How cool is Nobby’s tweed suit?

How stunning is Helen?  Love her dress and birdcage veil…

Too cute…

What a setting…

Seriously, how amazing are these two??

If only every wedding could include a croquembouche complete with massive sparklers!

Some of my favourite shots of the day…  Gotta love a bit of off camera flash!

See – blue steel!!  Both working it to perfection! x

Thank you thank you thank you Helen & Nobby for letting me be part of your celebrations!  You guys seriously rock and I know you’ll have a future full of love, laughter and plenty more fun in the snow!  Wishing you all the luck in the world for your new lives in Canada xxx
